Mubajje victorious?

“If Allah helps you, there is none to overcome you.” This is the verse of the Glorious Qur’an with which Mufti Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje opened his address to a gathering of hundreds of little-known guests during Monday’s inauguration ceremony of the new Uganda Muslim Supreme Council General Assembly at their heavily-fortified headquarters in Kampala.

As I was traveling in a taxi recently, I met a young man who seemed to be frustrated and he was complaining that Bannage Uganda Egaanye! (Lo! conditions in Uganda have become unbearable!) He said this as he struggled to pay for his transport fares.
