Getting into medical school is highly competitive. Even before you have heard whether or not you have got into medical school, it is sensible to have alternative career plan ready in case your application is not successful.
It is therefore important to explore at least two other career paths that are open to you in a scientific discipline and if medicine does not work out for you may well find you actually enjoy your science degree more which can lead onto a very enjoyable career. If required grades are not attained and your heart is still set on a career in medicine, you could take a year out to re-sit your exams.
